Self-Illuminating Exterior Façade — No Bulky Halogen

For TLW on MG Road, the client wanted a completely self-illuminating exterior façade—no bulky halogen fixtures on poles—while achieving a seamless, “wow” factor that would stand out to motorists and pedestrians alike.

Challenge & Solution

• Uniform, Joint-Free Illumination: Solid acrylic would have been ideal for a bright, unbroken glow but prohibitively expensive at this scale. Instead, we engineered a backlit light box system with a smooth acrylic front panel.
• Custom Image ability: To give the façade texture and brand character, we CNC-route red an ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel) overlay in a bespoke halftone pattern and mounted it over the acrylic. This created depth, visual intrigue, and reinforced TLW’s identity.
• Dimensional Lettering:Solid channel letters were added on top of the acrylic face to introduce a three-dimensional effect, making the signage both legible and premium-looking.

• Light box Frame & LEDs:Engineered aluminium framing houses evenly spaced, energy-efficient LED strips that bathe the entire façade in uniform light.
• Acrylic Façade Panel:High-opacity sheet provides a smooth, joint-free illuminated surface.
• CNC-Route red ACP Overlay:Precision-cut half-tone pattern on durable ACP adds branding texture without compromising illumination.
• Solid Channel Letters:Powder-coated aluminium letters mounted on standoffs deliver crisp, pop-out lettering.
