Project Overview
Baba Supersign fabricated and installed a backlit onyx architrave entrance for Fillip at The Chanakya, New Delhi. Book matched onyx panels were illuminated from behind with LED modules, while side access steel channels were incorporated to provide maintenance access to the lighting system. PVD finished stainless steel edge details were used to coordinate the feature with the surrounding premium retail interior.

Backlit Onyx Design
Book matched onyx panels were arranged around the entrance to create a continuous stone surround. Concealed LED lighting behind the translucent stone highlights the natural veining and provides the illuminated entry effect.
Materials and Execution
- Onyx Slab: Carefully book matched onyx panels, positioned to create a continuous, glowing entry surround.
- LED Panel & Sliding Channels: LED modules mounted behind the onyx, fixed to precision steel channels that slide laterally for maintenance.
- PVD Coated SS Brass End Caps: Brushed brass finish stainless steel sheets with PVD coating, used to neatly cap the ends and blend with the store’s interior accents.
- Non Invasive Mounting: Anchor points concealed within the 4″ reveal, avoiding any hammering or damage to adjacent luxury finishes.
