Two Large Fabric-Tensioned Ceilings
At THE LIQUOR FORT @ MAIDAWAS, DB Architekt wanted a clean and immersive ceiling system that would provide minimal visible fixtures, yet warm soft and even light on the island product displays. We designed two large fabric-tensioned ceilings (10′ × 60′ and 10′ × 36′) supported by a concealed LED lightbox so the space would be both distinctive and perfectly lighted.
Materials and Execution
- Tensioned Fabric Light box: High-tensile fabric stretched over a precision, framing system in order to achieve a continuous ceiling surface.
- Structural Base & Sealing: ply boxing sub-structure reinforced for supporting the fabric and coupled with integrated LED rails, completely sealed against dust and insects entering the light cavity.
- LED lighting: Dimmable energy-efficient LEDs integrated in the frame for even up light without the necessity for numerous surface-mounted fixtures.
Key Features and Benefits
- Clean sightlines:maintain a minimalist look, allowing the ceiling to "float" above the area.
- Durability and Hygiene: Airtight designing keeps insects and dust out and light quality stable through less upkeep.
- Scalability:Modular framework pieces enable easy repeat deployment on subsequent projects.
